Copyright and Licensing Policy

Intermestic: Journal of International Studies respects the intellectual property rights of authors and promotes the responsible dissemination of scholarly work.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright of their published work and grant Intermestic the right of first publication, subject to the journal's applicable publishing agreement and licensing terms.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is original, that third-party materials are used with appropriate permission where required, and that all sources are properly acknowledged.

Open Access License

The journal's existing publication ethics statement identifies the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) as its licensing framework. The applicable license for each published article must be clearly displayed on the article's webpage and publication file.

Under CC BY-SA 4.0, users may share and adapt licensed material, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is supplied, and changes are indicated. Adaptations must be distributed under the same license, subject to the license terms.

The license does not remove the obligation to respect third-party rights or other applicable legal requirements.

Author Rights

Authors may disseminate their published work through personal websites, institutional repositories, or other appropriate scholarly channels, provided that the original publication in Intermestic is acknowledged and the applicable license terms are respected.

Authors should include the article title, journal name, publication year, DOI, and a link to the published version when citing or sharing their work.

Third-Party Materials

Authors must identify materials that are not covered by the article's license and obtain permission when necessary. Such materials may include photographs, figures, tables, maps, or substantial reproduced text.

Licensing Transparency

The journal will display its copyright and licensing information in a clear and consistent manner across the journal website, article landing pages, and published files. Any changes to the journal's licensing policy will be communicated transparently and applied in accordance with the relevant publishing agreements and license terms.
