Abstract

This article discusses the role of MNCs in the application of renewable energy in Indonesia. The pressing issue with renewable energy in Indonesia is the critical need for more funding to realize renewable energy programs to achieve SDG targets. Many MNCs invest in the renewable energy sector in Indonesia, such as solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, and others. The SDGs concept is used in this research by looking at the application aspect, its effect on the economy, and MNC involvement in renewable energy in Indonesia. This research aims to accelerate the application of renewable energy in Indonesia by supporting all stakeholders in focusing on the application of renewable energy for shared economic growth.

Tia Mariatul Kibtiah, Binus University

Dr. Tia Mariatul Kibtiah is a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at Binus University. She is an active speaker at various events and appears in both national and international media, where she shares her insights on topics such as terrorism, security, public diplomacy, public opinion, foreign policy, and the cooperation between Indonesia and the Middle East.

Her research, published in international journals indexed by Scopus, has made significant contributions to the fields of Middle Eastern Studies, Public Diplomacy, Foreign Policy, Terrorism, Gender Studies, and more recently, renewable energy. In 2023, Tia received a grant from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia for a renewable energy project in the country.
